Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks News Release

FARGO, ND - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks will have one of the best in the league back in the bullpen in 2014, as the club has re-signed LHP Joe Harris for the upcoming season.

Harris, 27, was 10-3 with a 1.55 ERA and six saves in 53 appearances. He allowed 19 runs (12 earned) on just 47 hits in 69.2 innings pitched. Harris struck out 59 batters, walked 18 and held opponents to a .187 batting average against him.

Harris set a franchise record and tied for the American Association lead in appearances, and his ten wins tied for third most in the league. Following the season, he was named to Baseball America's All-Independent League Team.

In three seasons with the RedHawks, Harris has posted a 14-10 record with a 2.44 ERA and seven saves in 124 games. In 169.2 innings pitched, he has allowed 59 runs (46 earned) on just 120 hits. Harris was originally signed by the RedHawks in 2011 after he completed his college baseball career at Wilmington University (DE).

"In my opinion, Joe was the best and most valuable reliever in the American Association last year," said RedHawks Manager Doug Simunic. "His performance was one of the best we've ever had out of our bullpen in 18 seasons. When he comes in the game, he's pretty dominant."
