Knot in the North

February 21, 2014 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Soo Eagles News Release

A mere two points are all that stand between three teams fighting for one playoff spot in the six-member North Division of the North American Hockey League.

Springfield Jr. Blues and Soo Eagles are tied for fourth place in the NAHL North, just two points up on the Janesville Jets.

Springfield has a game in hand on the Soo, so in essence, the Jr. Blues are ahead of the Eagles.

Going into play this week, Springfield has 47 points in 47 games from a record of 20-20-7, the Soo has 47 points in 48 games from a record of 20-21-7 and Janesville has 45 points in 45 games from a record of 21-21-3.

Janesville, with three games in hand on the Soo and two in hand on Springfield, has been on a roll late with a 4-1-1 record in its last 6 games.

The Soo, on the other hand, has lost 5 straight games.

Janesville is at the Soo for a game this Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Pullar Stadium.

TOP 3

Port Huron continues to lead the North Division followed by Michigan and Johnstown.

The Fighting Falcons have 60 points from 46 games, the Warriors have 54 points from 45 games and the Tomahawks have 53 points from 47 games.
