Cape Breton Eagles News Release

Sydney - The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles announced today that they have signed General Manager & Head Coach Marc-André Dumont to a two year contract extension. Dumont was originally hired by the Screaming Eagles in December of 2012 on an 18-month contract. The extension will see Dumont continue in his role as General Manager & Head Coach through the 2015-2016 season.

"I am fortunate to be offered the opportunity to continue working with a group of dedicated and talented players and with a staff who displays such knowledge, said Dumont. "I thank the Screaming Eagles for their confidence. I am inspired to be working with a leader like Andre Cote."

In less than 15 months on the job, Dumont has made a great deal of progress. The team now boasts its first winning record in 4 seasons and recently clinched a playoff spot.

"Marc has done an excellent job and we are very happy to have him at the helm of the hockey team for a further two seasons," said Screaming Eagles President Andre Cote. "Since joining the organization in December 2012, Marc has brought leadership vision, team and player development, and a renewed sense of values of what it means to be a student athlete on the Screaming Eagles."

The Screaming Eagles are back in action this weekend when they host the Charlottetown Islanders on Friday night, and the Shawinigan Cataractes on Sunday afternoon. Both games are at Centre 200.
