Dallas Sidekicks News Release

DALLAS (Feb. 14, 2014)- This Sunday the Dallas Sidekicks (13-2) take on the Harrisburg Heat (4-11) at 4:00 p.m. at the Allen Event Center. In their last match of the regular season, the Sidekicks are looking to continue their seven game winning streak and gain momentum heading into the playoffs.

The Sidekicks' Central Division is a close one, Dallas tied for first place with the Hidalgo La Fiera. If both teams win the remainder of their games, Hidalgo will finish in the top spot as they hold the tie breaker. Sitting in the third position is the Monterrey Flash, with whom the Sidekicks are scheduled to host in the first round of the playoffs on Sunday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m.

Leading into this weekend's match, Sidekicks midfielder Nestor Hernandez leads the team in points (33-16-49), last week notching his record-breaking fifth consecutive hat trick. Hernandez stands sixth overall in PASL offense, closely followed by fellow Sidekick Jamie Lovegrove (24-20-44). Recently returning from injury, veteran goalkeeper Sagu remains a strong force in front of the net with a 4.41 GAA and a save percentage of 74%. The Harrisburg Heat are out of playoff contention, but will be looking for a win for Head Coach Richard Chinapoo (a former Sidekick), who has announced that this season will be his last. Harrisburg averages 6.5 goals for and 8.9 goals against.

Leading the team in offense are Tom Mellor (18-19-37) and Kenneth Fultz (19-5-24), while goalkeeper Sam Bishop sits with a 9.45 GAA and 65% save percentage. Last season the Sidekicks faced the Heat just once, coming away with a 6-2 victory in the team's home opener at the Allen Event Center on November 3, 2012.

Prior to Sunday's match, the Sidekicks will honor franchise legends Tatu and Gordon Jago as they are inducted into the Indoor Soccer Hall of Fame. Executive Director Sydney Nusinov will make the trip to Allen to recognize Tatu and Jago in front of the AEC crowd.
