February 14, 2014 - Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL)
Dayton Demonz News Release

It was a close game throughout the entire contest and it came down to a single goal to determine the winner. Lee McClure scored with exactly 5 minutes left in a 3-3 game to earn 3 points for the Demonz.

The game started out as how most Danville-Dayton games go, with a Dayton goal right out of the gates, 1:05 into the 1st period by Rob Vanwynsberghe. The Dashers would respond with a goal of their own, courtesy of Jamie Zaleski at the 4:40 mark to tie the game at 1. The score would remain the same going into the 2nd period until the Demonz would score twice from Rob Vanwynsberghe and Jesse Felten to make it 3-1. From there Dayton dominated and Josselin St. Pierre stood on his head in goal for Danville. Then out of nowhere Ray Tremblay scored on a turnover in front of the net to pull the Dashers within 1. On the power play it was Billy Hunt scoring on the power play to tie the game at 3, making it a brand new game. The Dashers would then take control, and now it was Jeff Rose's time to shine, stopping multiple shots, even rushes where he had to stop 5 continuous shots in a row. The game winning goal would come with 5 minutes left, on a floating shot from Lee McClure from the point that somehow got past Josselin St. Pierre. It would be all Dayton needed as they finished with a 4-3 win.

For Dayton, Rob Vanwynsberghe finished with 2 goals and an assist, Jesse Felten had a goal and assist and Lee McClure added a goal. Casey Mignone and Dustin Skinner added 2 assists each. Rose stopped 34 of 37 for the win. For Danville, Billy Hunt, Jamie Zaleski and Ray Tremblay had a goal each, and Josselin St. Pierre stopped 50 of 54 shots for the loss. The Demonz have now won 12 of 13 meetings with Danville this year.

Next home game is tonight, Feb 14th at Hara Arena, 7:35pm game time. First 100 women over 21 years old will receive a carnation from Jan's Flower & Gift Shop of Vandalia.
