Esks Announce 2014 Schedule

(Edmonton) - Green and Gold fans have another reason to cheer with the release of the 2014 schedule. The Edmonton Eskimos kick off the regular season at home on Friday July 4 against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at 8 p.m.
There are three instalments in the Battle of Alberta this season, including a rescheduled Labour Day Rematch.
"We requested the Labour Day Rematch be held on a Saturday and I am thrilled to see the request was granted," says Eskimos President and CEO Len Rhodes. "A Saturday rematch allows us to return the student voucher promotion back to the game where it belongs and to allow our young fans to help us fill the house.
Highlights
The Labour Day Rematch will be held on a Saturday, not a Friday, for the first time.The three instalments in the Battle of Alberta include: Edmonton vs. Calgary - July 24 - 7 p.m.Edmonton @ Calgary (Labour Day Classic) - September 1 - 2:30 p.m.Edmonton vs. Calgary (Labour Day Rematch) - September 6 - 5 p.m. The Ottawa REDBLACKS will make their first trip to Commonwealth Stadium on Friday July 11.The Edmonton Eskimos will take on the REDBLACKS in Ottawa for the first time on Friday August 15. There are two bye weeks: Week 6 and Week 18.The defending Grey Cup Champion Saskatchewan Roughriders make their only regular-season trip to Commonwealth Stadium on Friday September 26.
