Rebels Drop 3-2 Overtime Decision in Vancouver

VANCOUVER, BC - The Red Deer Rebels started off a 4-game road trip in Vancouver.  Despite battling back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game, the Giants prevailed 3-2 in overtime.

Vancouver was up 1-0 after 1 period on a goal by Dmitry Osipov. 

In the second, it looked like Conner Bleackley had tied the game on the power play, but the goal was called back after Giants netminder Payton Lee lost his mask on the play.  The Giants killed the penalty then scored on a goal by Thomas Foster.  The Rebels got one back when Aspen Sterzer made a good rush, and the Giants lead was 2-1 after 2 periods.

The Rebels tied the game on a beautiful goal by Conner Bleackley, he went back through his legs to go short side on Lee and it was 2-2.

The Giants ended the game at 4:20 of overtime when Cain Franson redirected a shot from the point by Tyler Morrison.

The final shots were 30-28 for Vancouver.  The Rebels were 1 for 6 on the power play and killed all 3 shorthanded situations.
