Warriors beat Eagles

After vacating their home ice at Perani Arena for 3 weeks, the Michigan Warriors returned to home ice action against the Soo Eagles Saturday night.

The Warriors got a hat-trick from Tyler Groat (11, 12, 13) to lead the goal parade. Also picking up goals for Michigan were Brandon Wolfe (1), Jake Hopfner (14) and TJ Stuntz (8). Mike Sabatini scored twice to account for the Eagles goals in the game, netting his 13th and 14 goals on the season.

Warriors net minder Trevor Gorsuch stopped 31 of 33 Eagles shots to pick up the victory, meanwhile Soo starter Landon Trutt only lasted the first 16:55 minutes of the contest, while picking up the loss, before being pulled in favor of Nathan Klebe.

The Warriors and Eagles will meet again next weekend Friday and Saturday, Feb 7 & 8, 2014 at Perani Arena and Event Center.
