Harrisburg Heat News Release

HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 24, 2014 - After two seasons in the cozy confines of the Equine Arena, the Harrisburg Heat next season will be moving back to their original home inside the State Farm Show Complex's Large Arena, the team announced today.

The 7,300-seat Large Arena had been the home to original Heat from 1991-2003. The Heat, on their return to pro indoor soccer in 2012, moved into the 2,200-seat Equine Arena before their inaugural season in the Professional Arena Soccer League.

"Many of our season ticket holders and original fans wanted to see the Heat back in the Large Arena," said Heat owner John Wilsbach. "We used the first two seasons in the Equine Arena to reestablish our fan base. Now it's time to get back home where we belong.

"This move gives us several months to start promoting games with our season ticket holders and our group sales," Wilsbach said.

The home dates for the 2014-15 season are being finalized and will be released in the coming weeks. The Heat, though, could move into the Large Arena even sooner if they earn a home playoff game this season.

The Heat (4-7 in the league and 6-7 overall) begin tonight's game against the league-leading Chicago Mustangs tied with the Cincinnati Saints (4-7) for the fourth and final playoff spot in the PASL's Eastern Division. Both the Heat and Cincinnati are two games behind the third-place Detroit Waza (6-5) with five games remaining in the regular season.

If the season ended today, Detroit would host a first-round playoff game against either the Heat or Cincinnati with Chicago and second-place Cleveland (9-4) each receiving a first-round bye.

Should the Heat pass Cincinnati and catch Detroit for third place, then they would host a playoff game on Feb. 22 in the Large Arena against either the Saints or Waza.

First, though, the Heat will finish the home portion of their regular-season schedule tonight and tomorrow against Chicago in the Equine Arena. Kickoff is 7:05 p.m. for both games against the Mustangs. After that, the Heat will play their final three games on the road Feb. 8 and 9 at Illinois (1-11) and Chicago (10-0), and Feb. 16 at Dallas. (10-2).

FREE STUFF

The first 250 fans through the door tonight will receive an ArcticBlu cooling towel. Messiah College's latest men's soccer championship team also will be introduced before the game.

JERSEY AUCTION

The Heat's second annual jersey auction will be held after tomorrow's home finale against Chicago. Proceeds benefit the PinnacleHealth Children's Resource Center.
