Dashers Lose 5-2 to Danbury in Snow-out Game

Harsh winter weather, including over a foot of snow and blustery winds, with roads choked off and driveways coated with white powder, didnt stop a diehard group of 30-40 fans from coming out to the Palmer Arena to witness tonight's game. However, Danbury would come away victorious with a 5-2 win.

Igor Karlov scored the first goal 1:47 into the first period before Jamie Zaleski scoring later in the 1st period to tie the game. However Brad Norkum would score on the power play with 19 seconds left to give Danbury a 2-1 lead. In the 2nd period it would be David Lun scoring 1:27 in to give Danbury a 3-2 lead, however Ryan Stern would score only 2 minutes later to make it a 1 goal game again. Ryan Patsch and Jason Pietrasiak would add goals in the 2nd period, and there were no more goals in the 3rd. In total there were only 2 power plays, 2 of them to Danville, and 1 to Danbury in which they did capitalize.

For Danville, Zaleski and Ryan Stern had the 2 goals. Only penalty was 2 minutes to Ray Tremblay, Nick Niedert stopped 34 of 39 and Robbins would finish off with 4 shots and 4 saves. For the Whalers, Jason Pietrasiak had a goal and 2 assists, Brad Norkum, Igor Karlov and David Lun finished with a goal and assist each. Ryan Patsch would add the other goal and Tim Richter added 2 assists. Kevin Hoy stopped 33 of 35 shots. The 2 teams' next game is against each other, on Friday the 10th at Danbury Ice Arena.
