Red Deer, AB - The Calgary Hitmen fell 3-2 to the Red Deer Rebels Friday evening at the Enmax Centrium.
After a scoreless first period, Calgary left wing Elliott Peterson and Red Deer forward Cole Chorney both scored in the middle frame. Greg Chase added a late third-period marker for Calgary, while Conner Bleackley and Rhyse Dieno each netted a goal to round out the Rebels' scoring. Peterson and Chase both recorded an assist to finish the night with two points, while Brady Brassart (2a) also posted a two-effort for Calgary.
Hitmen goaltender Chris Driedger made 37 saves in the setback.
The Hitmen return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 28, when they host the Oil Kings in the SUBWAY Soccer Day game, in support of the Calgary Minor Soccer Association, at 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
