Missouri's Shane Owen Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (December 23, 2013) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Missouri Mavericks goaltender Shane Owen has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending December 22, 2013. This marks the third time this season that the netminder has won the weekly award.

The Shanty Bay, Ontario native won both starts last week combining to stop 55 of 58 shots (.948 save percentage). On Friday, Owen made 23 saves in his team's 6-1 win over St. Charles and on Saturday, the goalie made 32 saves in the Mavs 3-2 road win in Tulsa.

On the season, Owen is tied for second in the league with a 2.35 goals against average and is sitting with a 14-4-0 record. His .924 save percentage is third in the CHL.
