Disappointing Second Half Sinks Fury In Saltillo

December 22, 2013 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Ontario Fury News Release

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, are coming home from Mexico wondering what might have been after falling to Rancho Seco Saltillo 16-8 Saturday night in Saltillo, Mexico.

It was the Fury's second game in as many days in mainland Mexico, and their third and final visit south of the border this season. In three games in Mexico, the Fury went 0-3 and were outscored 47-18.

In Saturday's game, the team's were tied at 3 at the end of the first half. But Saltillo came out on fire, scoring the first five goals of the second half. Ontario was able to close to 10-6 at the end of the third quarter, but gave up the first five goals of the fourth quarter, quelling any chance of a comeback.

Due to Internet and other issues at the Saltillo home facility, a box score and individual scoring details are not available at this time. A complete box score will be posted on OntarioFury.com when it becomes available.

The Fury return to Southern California for a holiday break, but will take to the road again next weekend, with another trip south - this time to San Diego for the second of four meetings against the Sockers. The 7 p.m. game will also serve as a game in the U.S. Arena Soccer Open Cup, with the winner of the game picking up a PASL victory and moving on in the tournament.

The Fury will return to action at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Jan. 4, 2014 with a 7 p.m. game against Toros Mexico. It will be AYSO 50th Anniversary Celebration Night. All youth players wearing an AYSO jersey will be allowed to march in a pregame parade on the field, and invited down for an exclusive post-game meet and greet with members of the Fury and the Ladies of Ontario Fury. Special tickets for the game are only available at OntarioFury.com and start at $10 with the code AYSO50. For information, call the Fury's office at 909-240-5242.
