HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 10, 2013 - The Harrisburg Heat enjoyed a rare weekend off during the season as they await ReAL Harrisburg FC in Saturday's Open Cup tournament at the Equine Arena in the State Farm Show Complex & Expo Center.
Kickoff is 7:05 p.m.
The Heat, 2-3 so far in the Professional Arena Soccer League after rallying past Cincinnati 8-6 on Nov. 30 at the Equine Arena, beat ReAL Harrisburg in last season's non-league, Open Cup match.
ReAL Harrisburg has a roster loaded with familiar faces, including forward John Abe, who once captained the original Heat franchise in the early 1990s, as well as onetime Harrisburg City Islanders J.T. Dorsey, John Lapore, Colin Zizzi, Steve Custer and Nick Noble.
The Heat next play a PASL match on Saturday, Dec. 21, against the Detroit Waza at the Equine Arena. Kickoff for that game also is 7:05 p.m.
FREE STUFF
Fans bringing a bag of clothes on Saturday for donation to CommunityAid will receive a buy-one, get-one ticket voucher to a future Heat game of their choice. While fans may - and are encouraged to - donate as many bags as they want for CommunityAid, the cap on vouchers is two per fan.
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
The Heat will hold training sessions this week on Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday's workout will run from 9-11 p.m. at Sports City, 4141 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. Thursday's workout will run from 8-10 p.m. at the Equine Arena. As always, the sessions are open to the media with head coach Richard Chinapoo and the players available for interviews before and after the sessions.
