New York Boulders News Release

(Pomona, NY) - The Rockland Boulders announced today that field manager Jamie Keefe and pitching coach Bobby Jones will return to lead the team during the 2014 CanAm League season.

The Boulders finished in 3rd place in 2013 compiling a 49-51 record, the best won-loss mark in their three years of existence. The team posted a respectable .270 batting average and 4.25 earned run average, both of which were second best in the CanAm League.

The Boulders battled Quebec for 1st place during the first half of the season and finished with a 14-6 head-to-head record against the eventual league champions. One of the largest comebacks in team history occurred against Les Capitales on May 27th at Provident Bank Park when the Boulders scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to complete a comeback from an early 11-4 deficit.

The Boulders slumped in the 2nd half the season after the Atlanta Braves signed leading hitter Chris Edmondson in late June, but remained in playoff contention until the final week of the season. The most memorable moment of the summer took place on August 23rd when Charlie Law threw the first no-hitter in franchise history.

"Although we did not achieve our ultimate goal of a league championship, we saw progress on several fronts on the field this season," said Ken Lehner, President of the Rockland Boulders. "Jamie and Bobby earned the right to continue what they started."

"Every time we take the field we want to come away with a W." said Keefe. "I despise losing more than I like winning so we are going to make the necessary changes to achieve success."
