Jets Recall Patrice Cormier from IceCaps; Place Chris Thorburn on IR

The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have recalled forward Patrice Cormier from the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

The Winnipeg Jets also announced they placed forward Chris Thorburn on the Injured Reserve List retroactive to Oct. 4/13.

Cormier, 23, has played in four games with the IceCaps so far this season. In that time, the left-handed centre has recorded one assist and 13 penalty minutes. He appeared in 10 games with the Winnipeg Jets last season for seven penalty minutes. Cormier played the majority of the 2012-13 season with the IceCaps where he suited up for 35 games and earned 11 points (7G, 4A) and 69 penalty minutes.

The Moncton, NB native has played in 40 career NHL games between Atlanta and Winnipeg for two career points (1G, 1A) and seven career penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the second round, 54th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft.
