Colorado Eagles News Release

WINDSOR, Colo. - A game winning goal by Eagles forward Dylan Hood put Colorado on top 3-2, at home against the Las Vegas Wranglers tonight.

The Eagles and Wranglers did not let the game go far without getting into a scuffle. Eagles forward Alex Hudson and Las Vegas forward Geoff Irwin clashed less than two minutes into the first stanza. Although the two teams almost matched each other shot for shot, the first period remained scoreless.

Las Vegas got on the board first with 12:33 left in the second frame. Wranglers forward Adam Huxley fired a shot around Eagles goalie Trevor Cann. But the Eagles would retaliate quickly with a beautiful goal from forward Teegan Moore, assisted by forwards A.J. Hau and Greger Hanson 8:44 into the frame. The Eagles would not let the score stay tied at 1-1 for long. Colorado forward Luke Fulghum beat Vegas goalie Travis Fullerton glove side to pump the Eagles score 2-1, 11:13 into the second. Fulghum was assisted by two Eagles veteran forwards Riley Nelson and Kevin Ulanski.

Las Vegas forward Chris Francis tied the game up 7:35 into the third period, getting around Eagles goalie Marc Cheverie. But Hood was not going to let the score stand at 2-2; he fired a shot from the circle straight past the Vegas netminder to win the game for the Eagles with a final score of 3-2.

The Eagles and the Wranglers will meet up tomorrow night in the finale of the two game preseason series at the Budweiser Events Center at 7:05 pm.
