Illinois Piasa Sign Dynamic Attacker and PASL Veteran Anel Ibricic

Pontoon Beach, IL, 10/4/13 - Illinois Piasa is excited to announce the signing of veteran Bosnian attacker Anel Ibricic. Anel was born in Kotor Varos, Banja Luka, Bosnia. He played youth soccer for German clubs FC Wacker Munich and TSV 1860 Munich. Anel played high school soccer at Affton High School where he received many awards including: Offensive Player of the Year, All-Conference, All-State, and All-Region. He went on to play two years of college soccer at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park where he was named All-Conference and All-Region. Anel is a veteran of the Professional Arena Soccer League having played for the now defunct St. Louis Illusion from 2009-2011.

"We are pleased to have a player of Anel's caliber and experience. He is the total package as an attacking player in that he has strength and superior technical abilities. Anel can hold the ball to distribute to his teammates or take on defenders and beat them with his smooth dribbling skills. He possesses an excellent shot and the uncanny ability to finish. I look forward to watching him play in combination with the other outstanding players we have signed," said Piasa Head Coach Doug Montroy.

"Signing with the Piasa feels awesome and I'm excited to be back in the PASL. I can't wait for the season to start. I am looking forward to playing in front of a packed house of intense indoor soccer fans," said Piasa's newest signing Anel Ibricic.

Piasa will play an inter-squad friendly for "Fan Appreciation Night" on Saturday, October 12 at 7:35 pm at The Field Sports Complex. Admission is $5 at the door. This will be a great opportunity for fans to get to know the Piasa players.

Illinois Piasa opens the 2013-14 PASL season at home on November 1 against the expansion team Tulsa Revolution. Kickoff is 7:35 pm at The Field Sports Complex in Pontoon Beach, Illinois. Tickets are available at www.IllinoisPiasa.com/tickets/ or by calling 618-334-5700.
