Condors Receive Abney and Broda from Oklahoma City

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, announced today that F Cameron Abney has been reassigned by Edmonton from Oklahoma City (AHL). Also, C Joel Broda, who was in training camp Oklahoma City, has been released from the Barons, and will report to Condorstown. With today's news, the Condors training camp roster stands at 23 (15 F, 6 D, 2 G).

ABNEY

6'4", 195 lbs., 22 years old, Aldergrove, British Columbia 3rd round (#82 overall) selection by Edmonton in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Signed a three-year NHL entry level contract on April 21, 2011. Split the past two seasons between Oklahoma City and Stockton. 2011-12: Second on the Thunder in penalty minutes with 132 in just 29 games. Played three-plus seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with Edmonton and Everett.

Troy's Take: "Cameron is a big body and physical presence who will bring size and grit to our lineup. He plays an "in your face" style of game and we're looking forward to seeing him in camp."

Broda, signed by the Condors earlier this offseason, played two preseason games with the Barons and scored one goal.
