The RailCats host the first two games in the best-of-five series with both contests scheduled for a 7:10 p.m. first pitch.
The teams take Thursday off before the Wingnuts host Game Three on Friday, September 13th at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. The Wingnuts will also host the "if necessary" Games Four and Five on September 14th and 15th. All Wingnuts' home games in the series begin at 7:05 p.m.
The Wingnuts return to the Championship Series after sweeping the Grand Prairie AirHogs three games to none last week. Wichita's pitching staff totaled 30 shutout innings in the series and allowed just two runners past second base.
This is the RailCats' first Championship Series since joining the American Association in 2011. Gary SouthShore beat Fargo-Moorhead three games to one in the Division Series, and clinched with a 3-0 victory on Saturday at U.S. Steel Yard. The RailCats won Northern League championships in 2005 and 2007.
Junior Guerra (9-4, 3.30) starts Game One for the Wingnuts on Tuesday night. Guerra pitched six shutout innings and took a no-decision in Game One at Grand Prairie last Wednesday. The Wingnuts won the contest 2-0 in 12 innings. Left-hander Alain Quijano (12-7, 4.05) takes the mound for the RailCats. Quijano took the loss in Game One at Fargo-Moorhead on Wednesday, allowing two earned runs in seven and one-third frames.
