Errors Do Not Haunt Renegades

Norwich, CT - The Hudson Valley Renegades (33-34) defeated the Connecticut Tigers (31-36) by a score of 7-4 Tuesday night at Dodd Stadium. There was a total of seven errors committed by both baseball teams tonight. The story of the game was the four run sixth inning in which the Renegades trailed 4-3. 1B John Alexander's (1-4) RBI ground out proved to be the difference in the game.
Renegades C Ryan McChesney (2-4) had a pair of RBI's in the game including a solo home run in the second inning that put the Renegades in front 1-0. It was McChesney's first home run of the season. Alexander chipped in with a pair of RBI's in the game.
The Tigers bats went cold in the later part of the game after having a 4-3 lead entering the sixth inning. LHP Ryan Beck (3-1) suffered the loss after he struggled in his 0.1 innings pitched. Beck allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits.
The Tigers grabbed contributions from SS Curt Powell (3-5) who had a solid night at the plate picking up a three hit ball game. RF Ben Verlander (2-5) and C Chris Taladay (1-4) each hit a solo home run in the game. For Verlander it was his fourth of the season and for Taladay it was his first.
The Tigers and the Renegades wrap up their three-game series at Dodd Stadium tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Austin Pritcher (3-3, 3.02) takes the mound for the Tigers.
