Spikes' final homestand of regular season to feature four games in three nights starting Wednesday

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - - The State College Spikes will kick off their last homestand of the 2013 regular season on Wednesday, August 28, and fans will enjoy a jam-packed slate as the Spikes play four games in three nights at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Highlights include the Coach Bill O'Brien Bobble Head Giveaway, the return of Thirsty Thursday, and a 70" HDTV Giveaway for Friday's home finale.
The Spikes are also making a drive for their first-ever New York-Penn League playoff berth, and fans can "Join The Hunt" as the club holds the Pinckney Division lead by 1 1/2 games over the Jamestown Jammers (Pittsburgh Pirates), who come in on Thursday and Friday.
The homestand begins on Wednesday as the Spikes face the face the Williamsport Crosscutters (Philadelphia Phillies) at 7:05 p.m. With the Nittany Lions set to begin their 2013 season on Saturday, the first 1,500 fans through the gates when they open at 6 p.m. receive Coach O'Brien's "BO'B-blehead" presented by The Nittany Lion Inn & The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel and 93.7 THE BUS.
Thursday, the Spikes welcome Jamestown for a makeshift doubleheader starting at 6 p.m. The two teams will pick up a game that was suspended in the bottom of the second inning on June 25 with the Spikes up, 2-0, and then play a seven-inning game after its completion.
Fans can enjoy the return of Thirsty Thursday at the ballpark along with the bonus baseball on Thursday night. Domestic draft beers will be available for just $1 from 6-8 p.m., with $1 regular sodas available throughout the evening. Plus, fans can feast on delicious 50 cent wings all night long.
Friday, the Spikes conclude the 2013 regular season home schedule with a 7:05 p.m. game against the Jammers. The Spikes will celebrate the fans that have made the 2013 season so great by giving away a 70" HDTV to one lucky fan, presented by Aaron's. After the game, fans can enjoy a spectacular post-game FIREWORKS show, presented by Penn State Sports Medicine and ESPN Radio 1450 that will light up the night skies one more time this summer.
In addition, college students across Central PA can enjoy even more value not just on Thursday, but throughout the homestand with the College 3-2-1 Special, presented by BioLife Plasma Services.
