Sharks Release 2013-14 Schedule

WORCESTER, MA - The Worcester Sharks (@WorcesterSharks), proud American Hockey League affiliate of the San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) have announced the 2013-14 regular season Worcester Sharks schedule. The Sharks home opener at the newly renovated DCU Center will be on Saturday, October 19 vs. the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins at 7:00p.m.

Worcester will commence the 2013-14 season against the Springfield Falcons at the Mass Mutual Center on Oct 12 before returning home to kick off the 8th season of Sharks hockey at the revamped DCU Center against the Penguins with a 7p.m. tilt on Saturday, Oct 19. The Sharks will square off against Atlantic Division rival, the Providence Bruins, for six home games, with five of the six dates falling on a prime Saturday evening (Nov 9, Dec 7, Jan 25, Feb 1, Apr 19). In addition the Sharks will host the Bruins on Dec 26 during school vacation.
"We are excited to begin our quest for the Calder Cup in the Sharks 8th season of hockey at the renovated DCU Center," said Vice President Jon Gustafson. "Our 2013-14 schedule is extremely family friendly with only four home dates falling during the school week. We look forward to another action packed season by providing affordable entertainment for the entire family to enjoy in downtown Worcester."
Thirty-three of the 38 Sharks home games will be played on the weekends with 23 of the 33 occurring on either Saturdays or Sundays. The Sharks will host 10 Friday home games this season with a start time of 7:30 p.m. Fourteen home games will take place in 2013 and 24 in 2014.
This season, the Sharks will play 14 sets of three games in three days including a 3-in-3 weekend at the DCU Center on Jan 10-12. Worcester will host a season ending seven game home stand (Apr 5-19) and embark on two separate five game roads trips (Dec 28-Jan 5, Feb 8-16) this season.

4X - Bridgeport, Hartford, Hershey, Norfolk, W-B/Scranton
2X - Adirondack, Albany
