HAGERSTOWN, M.D. - The Hagerstown Suns (13-8, 51-37) used a four run seventh inning to comeback and beat the Hickory Crawdads (13-7, 52-38) 5-3 Thursday evening. The win evened the season series between the two teams at five apiece and improved the Suns home record on the season to 26-18.

Trailing 3-1 in the seventh with runners on second and third and one out, CF Narciso Mesa reached on a fielder's choice, allowing RF Will Piwnica-Worms to score and cut the deficit in half. Second baseman Tony Renda then grounded into a force out, bringing home catcher Craig Manuel from third to tie the game. After Renda stole second, 1B Estarlin Martinez brought him home on a single to right field, giving the Suns the lead. Three batters later 3B Khayyan drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in the final run of the evening to make it 5-3.

Hickory opened up the scoring in the third. Shortstop Nick Urbanus led off with an infield single. After CF Nick Williams walked, 3B Nick Vickerson laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance the runners to second and third. A groundout by 1B Ronald Guzman would bring home Urbanus and give the Crawdads a 1-0 lead.

Hagerstown knotted the game at 1-1 in the fifth inning. Third baseman Khayyan Norfork began the frame with a single. Two batters later, catcher Craig Manuel singled to left, moving Norfork to third. Norfork would then score on a sacrifice bunt by SS Wes Schill.

Leading 2-1, Hickory tacked on another run in the seventh. With one out, Williams singled to left field. He would score a single by Guzman to make it 3-1, which would then set the stage for the Suns rally in the bottom half of the inning.

RHP Ronald Pena (4-3) got the win in relief for Hagerstown. Pena tossed two innings, allowing one earned run and four hits while striking out one. LHP Joe Burns (2-3) got pinned with the loss for the Crawdads. Burns pitched 0.2 innings, allowing four earned runs on two hits and one walk.

The Suns will open a four-game series against the Rome Braves starting on Friday, July 12. LHP Nick Lee (3-2) will take the hill for Hagerstown, making his ninth start of the season.
