2013 MLL All-Star Game takes place in Charlotte this Saturday

BOSTON - Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, has announced the 2013 MLL All-Star Game presented by Moe's Southwest Grill, will take place July 13, 2013 at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The MLL All-Star Game is an opportunity for the 38 best players in the league to play alongside each other. The players will be broken up into two teams selected playground-style by the two winners of the Ultimate Fan Fantasy contest.

There will be several events surrounding the All-Star Game beginning Friday, July 12 at 5:30 p.m. when there will be an All-Star Player/Coach youth clinic at American Legion Memorial Stadium. Immediately following the clinic the Ultimate Fan Fantasy winners Frank Ranfone and Cameron MacKenzie will select the players that will make up their teams, both events will be open to public viewing in the stands.

On Saturday, July 13, starting at 9:00 a.m., 44 teams from around the country will participate in a youth tournament at Elon Park set up by second year all-star and Charlotte Hounds defensemen Ryan Flanagan. The All-Star players will guest coach a team throughout the day.

From 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. fans will have the opportunity to participate in Moe's Southwest Grill Ultimate Lunch Experience with several MLL All-Stars. Select players will be "working the line" as well as sharing a meal with the Ultimate Fan Fantasy and Moe's Valuable Player contest winners at Moe's Southwest Grill located at 1500 East Blvd Charlotte, NC 28203.

The MLL All-Star Game Fan Zone will open at 5:00 p.m. with the gates to American Legion Memorial Stadium opening up at 5:30 p.m. The All-Star Game will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the opportunity to see several players participate in the 2013 Skill Competition during halftime with events including fastest shot, long shot, and freestyle.

After the game, jerseys worn by the All-Stars will be auctioned off online, where all proceeds will be donated to this year's official charity, JDRF. Fans will also have the opportunity to Text to Donate $5 at the event with details being released soon. The proceeds will be presented to JDRF at 2013 MLL Championship Weekend, presented by Smartlink, taking place August 24 and 25 in Philadelphia.
