Fresno Grizzlies News Release

Fresno, Calif. - Chris Dominguez hit a three-run home run to help him drive in four runs and lead the Fresno Grizzlies to a 6-2 win over the Reno Aces on Monday at Chukchansi Park.

Dominguez's three-run blast was part of a four-run first inning for Fresno. It also snapped a six-game homerless streak for the Grizzlies.

The early four-run advantage was more than enough for Grizzlies starting pitcher Yusmeiro Petit. The right-hander struck out nine over seven innings, matching his season-high for innings pitched in a start.

Petit surrendered two hits over his first five innings before surrendering a solo home run to MLB Rehabber Adam Eaton to lead off the sixth inning. Reno added three straight two-out base hits in the seventh, scoring one run, but on Tony Campana's single, Ed Easley was thrown out at home by center fielder Gary Brown to end the inning.

The outfield assist by Brown was his PCL-leading 14th of the season.

Dominguez added an RBI double in the fifth inning to make it 5-2 Grizzlies. He finished with two hits, giving him 20 safeties over his last 11 games.

Brett Pill hit a line drive home run to the left field bleachers in the seventh inning to make it 6-2 Fresno. It was Pill's 13th homer of the season with the Grizzlies. Pill had a game-high three hits.

Jean Machi threw two perfect relief innings, extending the Grizzlies bullpen scoreless streak to 18 innings.

Reno starting pitcher Michael Bolsinger allowed six runs, five earned, on 11 hits and one walk over seven innings in the losing decision.

The Grizzlies and Aces will meet for game two of the three-game set on Tuesday at 7:05 pm. Right-hander Mitch Lively of Fresno will oppose Reno's right-hander Garrett Mock.
