Colorado Rapids News Release
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Sunday, July 7, 2013) - The Colorado Rapids had 23 shots to D.C. United's six on Sunday night at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, but could not find the back of the net in a 0-0 draw. Rapids forward Deshorn Brown, Colorado's Man of the Match, had eight shots, but D.C. goalkeeper Joe Willis - a former star at the University of Denver - made several stunning saves to keep Colorado off the board.
The Rapids defense kept a clean sheet for the second straight match, with goalkeeper Clint Irwin making a pair of saves to keep his seventh shutout of the season. Colorado now takes to the road for a friendly match against Mexico's Santos Laguna in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Friday, July 12, and has its next league game on Wednesday, July 17 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
