PEARL, MS -- The Mobile BayBears plated two runs in the first two innings to defeat the Mississippi Braves 2-0 in front of 7,051 fans that filed through the gates for an early Independence Day celebration at Trustmark Park Wednesday night. The M-Braves travel to Birmingham for a five-game series before returning to Trustmark Park next Wednesday for five games against Chattanooga.

The crowd of 7,051 is the largest of the season for a M-Braves game at Trustmark Park and is the seventh-largest regular season crowd in Mississippi Braves history. Ender Inciarte led Mobile with a perfect 4-for-4 night at the plate including a double and one RBI. The BayBears held Mississippi (5-10, 43-42) to just four hits on the night. Mobile took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Nick Ahmed and Dustin Martin delivered back-to-back doubles.

Mike Freeman reached on an error by the second baseman, Tommy La Stella, to start the BayBears' second. Ryan Court walked and Inciarte followed with a RBI-single to center field, extending Mobile's lead to 2-0.
