Today's Game
Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Charlotte Knights in the third game of a four-game series from Knights Stadium (7:15 p.m.). The Herd routed the Knights in yesterday's matinee, 11-3. The Bisons are now 3-3 in a stretch of 10 of 11 games on the road. The Herd returns home July 3 for an Independence Eve game with Rochester.

The Bisons are 3-3 against the Knights this season. The teams split a four-game set at Coca-Cola Field, May 18-21. This is the Herd's final trip to Knights Stadium as Charlotte will have a new ballpark for the 2014 season. Buffalo is 27-35 in Charlotte since 1998.
Today's Starter
RHP THAD WEBER takes the mound for the Herd tonight. The veteran has won three straight starts, allowing only two earned runs on 11 hits in 20.0 innings of work (0.90 ERA). Last Wednesday, Weber gave up just one earned run over seven frames to beat Gwinnett, 4-3.
Pillar of Strength
OF KEVIN PILLAR has homered in each of his last two games, adding to his stellar start with the Herd. Pillar has reached safely in each of his first 10 games, hitting .395 (17-43) with 10 RBI and a .435 on-base percentage. Nine of Pillar's 13 hits have gone for extra bases with seven of his eight doubles coming in five games this roadtrip.
Goins Good
INF RYAN GOINS enters tonight's game on a six-game hit streak. Since June 23, the infielder has averaged .440 (11-25) with two doubles a home run and four runs scored. Goins has at least one RBI in five straight games and has knocked in nine in his last nine contests.
Mauro hits them Far-O
With 13 home runs in June, OF MAURO GOMEZ tied OF Karim Garcia (Aug. 2001) club mark for most blasts in a single month by a Bison. Gomez's 24 homers on the year are four more than any IL slugger and tied with Hickory's Ryan Rua for the most in minor league baseball. Gomez is second on the team in total bases (152,) and in RBI (54).
New Addition
C RAMON HERNANDEZ was signed by the Blue Jays and made his Bisons debut on Sunday. An American League All-Star with Oakland in 2003, Hernandez is second among all active catchers with 1,447 major league games caught (A.J. Pierzynski, 1,614).
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (40-41) lost in walk-off fashion to the Red Sox on Sunday, 5-4. OF JOSE BAUTISTA clubbed his third home run in two games as he went 3-5 from the plate in the loss. Toronto opened up a four-game series with the Tigers this afternoon.
