Pelicans and P-Nats Suspended in the Third Inning

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans (43-32, 3-3) game with the Potomac Nationals was suspended Thursday with the Pelicans leading 1-0 in the third inning. The game is not official and will be resumed as part of a double-header on Thursday, August 1st when the Pelicans return to Pfitzner Stadium. The time of the double-header is yet to be determined. The continuation game will go the full nine innings and the regularly scheduled game will go seven innings.

Kellin Deglan scored a run on a wild pitch after producing a one-out single in the second inning. The Pelicans threatened but did not score after Luis Sardinas' leadoff double in the first inning.

The Pelicans begin a three-game home series tomorrow against the Lynchburg Hillcats, the Class-A Advanced affiliates of the Atlanta Braves. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. from TicketReturn.com Field. Coverage will begin at 6:50 p.m. on AM 1050 and FM 101.9 - Fox Sports in Myrtle Beach. Right-hander Luke Jackson (7-4, 2.56) will be opposed by Hillcats left-hander Blaine Sims (0-3, 7.07).
