Portland Sea Dogs News Release
Portland, Maine - The Portland Sea Dogs have partnered with STRIVE to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Most Simultaneous High Fives. High Fives for STRIVE will take place on Friday, July 5th at Hadlock Field when the Sea Dogs host the New Britain Rock Cats at 7:00 PM.
During the middle of the third inning, Slugger the Sea Dog will ask all fans in attendance to help break the record by high fiving the person next to them. Among the requirements are; all high fives must occur within a five-second window, people attempting the record may only use one hand, each participant may be part of only one high five, and participants must actually slap their entire hand against the hand offered to them (palm to palm) for a high five; the hands should meet above the height of their heads.
The current world record for most simultaneous high fives is 4,699, set by The Kroger Co. at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky on April 16, 2013.
Video and photography evidence will be provided to Guinness by the Great Moose Aerial Photography and No Umbrella Media.
