Torrez Blast Leads Biscuits to Victory

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Biscuits (41-36, 4-3) were held scoreless through six innings until Riccio Torrez hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning before Montgomery held off a late rally from the Chattanooga Lookouts (38-40, 3-5) in a 4-3 win Wednesday afternoon at AT&T Field. The win is the third-straight for the Biscuits and gives Montgomery their ninth series win.

The Biscuits only had three hits off Andres Santiago (3-6) through the first six innings and trailed 1-0 before Cameron Seitzer led off the seventh with a single. After a fly out from Todd Glaesmann, Keith Castillo walked to set the stage for Torrez's fifth home run of the season. The homer was off reliever Hector Nelo.

Montgomery tacked on a run in the eighth with an RBI-single from Seitzer to make it 4-1. The extra run proved valuable.

In the bottom of the ninth, Rafael Ynoa hit an RBI-single to make it a 4-2 game. An RBI from Brian Cavazos-Galvez made it a 4-3 game. With the tying run at third and winning run at first, Erik Hamren (3) induced a game ending fielder's choice to earn his third save and give the Biscuits the win.

Enny Romero (7-3) picked up his seventh win by going six innings and only allowing one unearned run on six hits with two strikeouts and one walk.

Braulio Lara threw two scoreless innings in relief.

Game four of the series is Thursday night at 6:15 cst. RHP Victor Mateo will head to the hill for the Biscuits while the Lookouts will send RHP Duke von Schamaan to the mound.
