Frederick Keys News Release
The Keys got another solid start but it was not enough as the Mudcats battered bullpen had an outstanding evening, shutting out the Keys as Frederick fell 5-0 on Tuesday night. Eduardo Rodriguez went seven strong innings but ended with a tough luck loss.
The lone run for the Mudcats came in the fourth inning after 1B Jarrud Sabourin walked, CF Jordan Smith hit an RBI-triple to give Carolina a 1-0 lead. Eduardo Rodriguez (6-4) went seven innings allowing three hits and one run.
Frederick threatened early in the third inning but failed to score. The Keys loaded the bases with two walks and a single but DH Michael Ohlman grounded out sharply to third base to end the threat.
The shutout came from a Carolina bullpen that has labored all year. The quartet of Francisco Jimenez, Owen Dew, Rob Nixon and Jeff Johnson compiled to shut down the Keys dormant attack. Frederick has registered only seven hits against Carolina in the first 18 innings of the series.
The Keys look to turn the tables on Carolina with a daytime 11 a.m. start from Zebulon, NC Wednesday, June 26th. On the hill will be RHP Zach Petersime. Coverage will begin 30-minutes prior with The Frederick Gorilla Pre-Game Show on 1450-AM The Source and wthu.org.
Frederick returns home Friday, June 28th to celebrate their 25th season with a Card Set Giveaway to the first 1,000 fans presented by Keeney and Basford Funeral Home. The game against Winston-Salem will kick off a six-game homestand in six days.
Tickets can be purchased for all Keys home games at 301-815-9939 during regular business hours or online at frederickkeys.com anytime.
