Bullfrogs Defeat Bombers, Secure Series Win

The Bullfrogs earned their second series victory of the season on Sunday, defeating the Battle Creek Bombers 4-1. The win improves the Bullfrogs to 11-15 on the season.

The Bullfrogs scored an unearned run in the fourth and another in the sixth and held a 2-0 lead through six innings. The first two runs were scored by Tripp Martin and Trevin Sonnier, who each reached on singles.

The Bullfrogs opened the seventh inning with three straight doubles to add two more runs and take a 4-0 lead. The doubles came from Martin, Ryan Drobny and Cabe Reiten. Martin and Drobny scored the runs for Green Bay.

The Bombers finally got to Bullfrog starting pitcher Garrett Harrison in the seventh inning tallying three hits to bring one run home. It was their only run of the game.

Harrison earned the win in his first start of the season. He gave up six hits in seven innings of work and struck out four and walked none. Logan West pitched a scoreless eighth, and Robert Youngdahl earned his first save of the year with a scoreless ninth inning.

The Bullfrogs are now 11-15 on the season, and the Bombers are 12-13.

The Bullfrogs have their first scheduled off day of the season on Monday, and return home Tuesday to take on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. It is KIDS DAY 2013 presented by Gallagher's Pizza and 2 for 1 Tuesdays with Y100.
