Houston Dynamo to host Toronto FC tomorrow night with tribute to Houston's fallen firefighters Limit
June 21, 2013 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - After three straight road games, the Houston Dynamo return home to host Toronto FC on Saturday at 8 p.m. CT. at BBVA Compass Stadium, in a game presented by Snapple. Limited tickets remain for the match and can be purchased at www.HoustonDynamo.com, by calling 713-276-GOAL or at the stadium ticket office (2200 Texas St., Houston) from noon through kickoff tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the Dynamo's first league home game since May 18. The club will hold a tribute to the fallen firefighters from the May 31 Houston fire. The night will include moments to honor the fallen firefighters and their families and a fundraiser and auction to benefit the 100 Club Survivors Fund. In addition, Dynamo players will wear a commemorative patch on their game jerseys.
Saturday's game will be broadcast live on CSN Houston, with the pregame show beginning at 7:30 p.m. The game can be heard on Yahoo Sports Radio 1560 AM and La Ranchera 850 AM (Spanish).
The Dynamo (6-5-4; 22 points) are tied for third place in the Eastern Conference with the Philadelphia Union and Sporting Kansas City after a 2-0 loss in Montreal on Wednesday. Toronto FC (2-7-5; 11 points) is in ninth place in the conference after a 2-1 road win at D.C. United on Saturday.
Toronto FC features Welsh forward Robert Earnshaw, who leads the club with six goals, including a tally in Toronto's win over D.C. United last weekend. Toronto native Jonathan Osorio has scored three goals in his first season with the club. The 21-year-old made his first appearance for the Canadian national team in May.
Houston and Toronto met on April 20 at BMO Field and played to a 1-1 draw after Dynamo midfielder Warren Creavalle scored the equalizer in second half stoppage time. Saturday is the final regular season meeting between the clubs this year.
Dynamo midfielders Brad Davis and Boniek Garcia are back with the club after extended stays with their national teams for June's World Cup qualifiers and will be available for selection on Saturday.
