Barons with Seven Dates Confirmed on 2013-14 Schedule

June 19, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Oklahoma City Barons News Release

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons, American Hockey League affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, received a preview of their schedule with the release of seven home dates for their 2013-14 campaign.

Hockey season in Oklahoma City gets underway with the NHL Showcase presented by Mercy on September 27 when the Barons parent club, the Edmonton Oilers, host the Dallas Stars in an NHL preseason game at the Cox Convention Center.

Oklahoma City opens their 38-game home schedule with a weekend set of games October 4 and 5. In addition to the home opener, the Barons are scheduled to play at home November 12, 15 and 16 and December 20 and 21. The Barons annual Education Field Trip Day will be November 12.

The AHL provides each of their member clubs six guaranteed home dates in advance of the release of the complete schedule. Opponents for these dates are not known until the release of the schedule later this summer.

The release of the seven dates sets in motion an aggressive promotional calendar for the Barons. For the team's home opener on Friday, October 4, the Friday Concession Specials return with $2 draft beer and $1 hot dogs. Saturday, October 5, the largest promotion in Oklahoma sports history continues this season with the Drive Away Every Saturday promotion. Each Saturday during the regular season, one lucky Barons fan drives away with a brand new car.

Tickets for the NHL Showcase presented by Mercy are included in all full Season Seat Holder packages and will be available to partial plan holders and group leaders in the near future. For more information about Barons ticket plans and the NHL Showcase, contact the Barons front office at 405-232-GOAL.
