Beloit Sky Carp News Release
BELOIT, WI - As the first half of the 2013 Midwest League season comes to a close, the Beloit Snappers will attempt to secure a playoff spot during their final homestand before the All-Star Break. They will take on the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Brewers) from June 11-13 and the Clinton LumberKings (Mariners) from the 14-16 in three game slates as they set their sites on a second consecutive trip to the postseason. During these six games, the Snappers will provide their fans with another slew of promotions and special offers, making any day a good day to visit Pohlman Field.
College and Dollar Night will start things on Tuesday, June 11th, allowing fans who show a valid college ID to grab a general admission ticket for only $1. Also available for $1 will be hot dogs, small sodas, Pizza Hut pizza slices and small popcorn. Ott Schweitzer Distributing is sponsoring 12oz drafts of Leinie's products for $1.50.
Another 7:00pm contest on Wednesday, June 12th allows everyone the chance to pick the special offer available for the game, as Social Media Wednesday gives the power to the people.
Thursday, June 13th is the date for the Snappers' first deck party of the year, the Around the World Deck Party. The first 200 people to purchase a ticket to the party can feast on food from all around the globe. This is courtesy of Kandu Industries and Best Events Catering. Snappy Hour is set for Thursday, June 13th as the Snappers close out their series with Wisconsin at 7:00pm. Visit the Firehouse Grill to purchase 8oz drafts of Miller Lite for $1 or check out the main stand for $1 small sodas. The Sud's Hanahan's Bullpen Deck and the Milller On Deck will also be in on the action, offering rail mixed drinks for $3.
On Friday, June 14th, Beloit opens up a three game series with Clinton. This night also serves as the third fireworks night of the season, sponsored by Concordia University of Wisconsin. Stick around after the game and start your weekend off right with fireworks at Pohlman Field.
The fireworks will be back again on Saturday night, this time thanks to Rock Energy Cooperative. This fourth fireworks show of year will take place at the conclusion of the night's 7:00pm game, as fans can enjoy another evening that includes the Stateline's best pyrotechnics show.
The first half home schedule concludes with a 2:00pm match-up on Sunday, June 16th that doubles as a very special day for the Minor Leagues' best mascot, Snappy D. Turtle. The organization is celebrating Snappy's birthday at the ballpark and the festivities include a Snappy bobblehead giveaway, courtesy of Mercy Health System, to the first 500 fans. Everyone at the game can also make a charitable contribution during the seventh inning stretch by bringing stuffed animals with them and throwing them on the field during the stretch. The stuffed animals will later be brought to children at a local hospital by Snappers players.
