May 28, 2013 - International League (IL1) - Toledo Mud Hens News Release

The Mud Hens rallied from four down in the ninth to send the game to extras where Nick Castellanos scored on a wild pitch to secure a 6-5 victory in the series opener in Charlotte.

The Knights opened up the scoring in the first inning when Jordan Danks connected for an RBI single off Casey Crosby for a 1-0 Charlotte lead. Nick Castellanos then tied the game in the fourth inning with an RBI single of his own to even the score before Charlotte broke the tie in the bottom of the inning.

The Knights managed to tack on three more runs before the Hens rallied for four runs to tie the game at 5-5 in the ninth. The rally started when Argenis Diaz doubled in Brad Davis to cut the lead to 5-2. Brandon Douglas followed and singled in another to cut the lead to 5-3 before Danny Dorn singled in two later in the inning.

Eight of the nine Hens' starters picked up a hit, including Castellanos' three-hit performance and a 2-for-4 night from Jordan Lennerton to extend his hit streak to 16 games.

The Mud Hens will look to extend their win streak tomorrow at 7:15 p.m. in Charlotte in the second game of their four game set with the Knights. LHP Ramon Garcia is scheduled to make the start for Toledo.
