Columbus Crew SC News Release
3 & 30
With Chad Marshall listed as "OUT" on this weekend's injury report, Josh Williams (#3) and Andy Gruenebaum (#30) will become the team's minutes leaders thus far in 2013. Both the defender and the goalkeeper have played all 900 minutes thus far, with defender Glauber close behind with 899 minutes played.
225
Although the Black & Gold have been unable to score in the last 225 minutes of action, the streak is still 34 minutes outside of the club's top 10 scoring droughts. The 2011 squad posted a 259-minute scoreless streak from July 16 through July 23. The club record for goal-scoring futility came in 2004 -- a season in which despite a club-record scoreless streak of 420 minutes -- the Black & Gold still managed to win its first-ever Supporters' Shield.
3-0-1
The Crew is 3-0-1 this season when scoring first -- something to keep in mind when the goal-scoring drought is eventually snapped. The Black & Gold will need to get out in front of Toronto FC this weekend as the Crew has seen its opponents score first in four of the last five matches this year. When the Crew doesn't score first, the club has picked up points in just two contests, holding a mark of 0-4-2 in 2013.
