Guerrieri Named MWL Pitcher of the Week

Bowling Green, KY - For the second time this season, a Bowling Green Hot Rods pitcher has been named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week. On Monday, the Midwest League named Hot Rods RHP Taylor Guerrieri their Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 6-12. Guerrieri is the second Hot Rods pitcher to be given the award this season. Jeff Ames was awarded the MWL Pitcher of the Week award for the week of April 15-21.
Guerrieri's lone start of the week occurred on Sunday at Bowling Green Ballpark against Lake County. The righty earned his second win of the season, striking out a career-high ten opponents in the outing while surrendering just one hit in five shutout innings. The effort lowered his season ERA to 2.00 and also allowed the Hot Rods to cruise to an 8-0 victory.
Bowling Green starts a seven-game road trip on Tuesday night at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne with the first of a three-game series at 6:05 PM CDT. The Hot Rods will send RHP Reinaldo Lopez (1-1, 0.79) to the mound opposite the TinCaps RHP Joe Ross (3-0, 2.84). The Forever Communications Pregame Show with Hank Fuerst will begin at 5:35 PM CDT.
