Lancaster Stormers News Release
Friday evening's game between the Lancaster Barnstormers and York Revolution at Clipper Magazine Stadium was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a doubleheader at 6:00 on Saturday, May 11. Both games will be seven innings. Fireworks will follow. Gates will open at 5:00.
Will Savage (2-1) and Dwayne Pollok (2-0) will make the starts for Lancaster against right-handers Corey Thurman (1-3) and Brett Tomko (0-2).
A game did get underway on Friday evening, and Lancaster was leading, 2-1, when play was halted after 3 1/2 innings.
Travis Denker belted an opposite field home run in the bottom of the first, and Kody Kirkland added a bases loaded sacrifice fly in the second as Lancaster jumped out to an early 2-0 lead off Yunior Novoa.
Brian Grening escaped a huge jam in the first inning and breezed through the next two frames before York picked up a run in the fourth on a bases loaded sacrifice fly by Andy Gonzalez.
Rains began falling heavily at the end of that half-inning, and, approximately 45 minutes later, crew chief Matt Beaver signaled that the game would not continue as heavy thunderstorms continued.
Under Atlantic League rules, if an official game is not played, the teams start over at the next available opportunity.
