Inland Empire 66ers News Release

Lake Elsinore, CA- Playing in the 100th game of his Inland Empire 66ers (15-13) career, Brian Hernandez connected on three hits driving in three runs to help his team to an 8-3 road trip opening win over the Lake Elsinore Storm (8-19).

Inland Empire struck early with an RBI single from Alex Yarbrough in the 1st to open the scoring, and then an RBI knock from Zach Wright with an additional run from a Lake Elsinore error to make it 3-0.

But the scoring really started for the 66ers with Hernandez in the 5th . The lead having been trimmed to one, Hernandez came up with the bases loaded and ripped a single up the middle to drive in a pair of runs.

Then in the 7th he doubled to the gap in left center for his third RBI of the day.

It was just another marquee performance for Hernandez in Lake Elsinore. He is now 12-for-22 with five RBI against the Storm. Another 66er who loves playing Lake Elsinore is starting pitcher Kramer Sneed. He allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings tonight and now holds a 2-0 record and a 1.50 ERA against the Storm. The Inland Empire 66ers continue the road trip Saturday at Lake Elsinore with a 6:05 PM matchup against the Storm. The game can be heard on the 66ers flagship station AM 1050 KCAA. The 66ers return home Friday, May 10th for a Toyota and Scion of Redlands 50 cent Friday and a Halo Hat giveaway presented by Frozen Ropes.
