Development Camp 2013 Details Announced

The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club will open their 2013 Development Camp this weekend when thirty-four prospects arrive in Sault Ste. Marie.

Set for Friday, May 3rd through Sunday, May 5th , two days of this year's camp will take place at the Essar Centre before the final day switches to the John Rhodes Community Centre.

Over the course of the weekend, players will take part in a variety of events ranging from fitness testing, skill sessions, practices, team meetings and NEW this year "" a "full game experience." The full-game experience/scrimmage will be on Saturday, May 4th (7 p.m.) at the Essar Centre.

The game is brought to you by Relay for Life and team #HoundPower. The game is FREE to attend and open to the general public although donations in-kind to support the Soo Greyhounds Relay for Life team will be accepted at the rink's main entrance.

#HoundPower will be participating in the Relay for Life later this summer in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Relay For Life is an inspirational, non-competitive, 12-hour overnight fundraising event that brings you and your community together to celebrate life and fight cancer. Relay has a festival-like atmosphere that your family, friends and co-workers can enjoy regardless of age or fitness level! Celebrate. Remember. Fight back.

All of these camp components combined will provide the participating players a greater understanding of The Program developed in Sault Ste. Marie, and about the community and fans.

This year's camp will be broken down into just two teams.

- 34 total players; 3 goalies, 12 defenseman, 19 forwards

- 9 players were selected in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection, 16 were selected in this past May's 2013 OHL Priority Selection while 9 are FREE AGENT invites.
