Today's Game: The RedHawks will shoot for their first winning home series when they conclude their four-game set with the New Orleans Zephyrs at 2:05 p.m.

Last Game: After a close first half of the game, the RedHawks scored the final nine runs of the night and won going away over the Zephyrs, 11-1. Leading 2-1 in the fifth, Marc Krauss connected on a two-run homer. The RedHawks began to put the game away with four runs in the seventh, followed by three more runs in the eighth. For the second straight night, the OKC pitching staff was stellar, allowing just one run and six hits. Jordan Lyles (2-2) bounced back from his previous rough start to allow a run and three hits over five innings with a season-high four strikeouts, claiming his second win of the season.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Brett Oberholtzer returns to the RedHawks after a brief stint with the Astros...Oberholtzer made his Major League debut last Sunday in Houston against the Cleveland Indians...The lefty allowed two runs and three hits over two innings...He gave up two solo home runs, including one to the first batter he faced (Carlos Santana)...Oberhotlzer's previous outing with the RedHawks was on April 16 against Round Rock...He took the loss after giving up five runs and five hits over five innings, with all of the runs coming across in the third...After a strong finish in 2012, Oberholtzer has struggled a bit out of the gate this season, allowing at least five runs in all three of his starts with the RedHawks (18 runs, 12.1 IP)...Last season Oberholtzer faced New Orleans twice in back-to-back starts in July...On July 7, he tied the Zephyr Field record by allowing five home runs, but eight days later he came back and allowed one earned run over six innings in a win at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Against the Zephyrs: 2013: 2-1 2012: 8-8 All-time: 126-114 In OKC: 71-51

Last season's series was about extremely even...Each team won consecutive games against the other just once, and neither won three straight...There was one 10-game stretch where the squads alternated wins and losses...The RedHawks hit an impressive .308 against the Zephyrs, but New Orleans outscored OKC 105-90...The Zephyrs bashed 27 homers over the 16 games, representing 18 percent of their season total...Jimmy Paredes hit .389 against New Orleans pitching...Neither team has won 10 or more games against the other in a season since 2006.

On the Marc: After going 2-for-4 yesterday, Marc Krauss has hit safely in all 11 home games, batting at a .436 clip with 17 RBI. Yesterday, for just the second time in his career, Krauss stole two bases in a game. The other occasion was July 13, 2012 in the second game of a doubleheader against the Huntsville Stars when Krauss was playing for Double-A Mobile in the Diamondbacks system. His 22 RBI are currently tied for sixth in the PCL and rank first among Astros minor leaguers.

Valiant Villar: After getting off to a 2-for-34 start, Jonathan Villar is hitting .392 (20x51) over his last 12 games. He's hit safely in 10 of the games and collected more than one hit in seven of his last eight contests. His nine multi-hit games this season is second on the team, only one behind Jimmy Paredes, who has 10. During this stretch he has collected all nine of his RBI and all seven of his extra-base hits for the season.

Paredes Patiently Popping Off: Jimmy Paredes is 8-for-16 the last four games and has collected at least two hits three times. Paredes leads the team with 30 hits and 10 multi-hit games. He drew two more walks last night, marking the third time through 22 games this season he's drawn more than one walk in a game. In 124 games with the RedHawks last season, he never walked more than once. Paredes' walk total now stands at 10, almost half of what he had for all of 2012 (22). He didn't draw his 10th walk last season until June 21.

Simunic's Start: Since joining the RedHawks on April 18, Andy Simunic has hit safely in five of six games, going 9-for-22 (.409). He has three multi-hit games and the one game in which he did not hit safely, he drew two walks and hit a sac fly. Over 11 games with the RedHawks the last two seasons, Simunic went just 1-for-14.

None On, Two Out? No Problem: Yesterday the RedHawks scored nine of their 11 runs in innings in which the bases were empty with two outs. Under this scenario they scored twice in the third, fifth, and seventh and added three more in the eighth.

Yard Work: The RedHawks ended an eight-game home run drought at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark last night when Marc Krauss and Brett Wallace both went deep. Krauss has accounted for three of the five home runs the RedHawks have hit in OKC this year. Their 15 total homers this season rank just 13th in the PCL, but on the other hand, the 13 home runs allowed by the pitching staff are tied for second-least in the league.

Swipe Out: The RedHawks stole four bases last night, bringing their season total up to 24, which ranks third in the PCL.

Tightening the Screws: Since getting down 6-0 in the fifth inning of Thursday's game, the RedHawks pitching staff has allowed five runs and 18 hits over the last 25 innings. During that stretch the RedHawks have outscored the Zephyrs 21-4. The last time they held an opponent to one run or less in consecutive games was Aug. 29-30, 2012 against Albuquerque.

All or Nothing: Through the first 22 games of the season, the RedHawks pitching staff has allowed seven or more runs 12 times, but has limited the opposition to three or less runs in the other 10 games.
