Roster Transaction Precedes Start of Road Trip

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs, have announced that outfielder Trey Martin has been placed on the disabled list with a left shoulder injury and catcher Yaniel Cabezas has been activated from the disabled list. Today's roster move keeps the team at 25 active players as the Cougars open a six-game road trip at Fort Wayne this evening. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. CDT.

Martin (13th round, 2011) had played in 11 of the Cougars' 16 games this season. Cabezas was placed on the disabled list before the April 4th season opener and will be active for the first time in 2013 this evening. The 24-year old played in 58 games with Peoria (Class-A) last season.
