The Rock Cats moved in front in the top of the seventh inning. Rohlfing and Jonathan Goncalves hit back-to-back singles to start the inning, with Rohlfing scoring on a single by former Fisher Cats 3B Mark Sobolewski and a second run crossing on a throwing error on the play.

New Britain also scored in the top of the eighth inning. James Beresford walked, was balked to second and scored on a single by Rohlfing.

Alex Meyer (2-0) worked the first six innings for the Rock Cats, allowing one run on eight hits. He walked one and struck out seven. Aaron Thompson worked two scoreless innings in relief and Michael Tonkin finished up for his third save.
