Wheeling Nailers Weekly Internet Show Debuts Friday
April 24, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, are excited to announce the addition of a new internet-radio show, which will help to keep fans informed about the team, as well as about what is happening in the hockey world. Starting this Friday, the Nailers will be posting an internet-radio show on their YouTube page, called, "Wheeling Nailers Weekly."
"Wheeling Nailers Weekly" will be a 30-60 minute show each week, hosted by Wheeling Nailers Radio Broadcaster DJ Abisalih. DJ will be covering everything that occurs within the Wheeling organization, while also covering news from around the ECHL, AHL, and NHL, with special focus placed on each of the Nailers' four affiliates (Pittsburgh, Montreal, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Hamilton). The show will feature commentary, interviews, audio highlights, and a few other surprises along the way.
"My goal in hosting this show is to keep the game of hockey fresh in the minds of our fans, especially now and in the summer months, when the Nailers aren't on the ice," said Abisalih. "I want to make sure that our fans are aware of what is going on with our affiliates, while also getting a chance to hear from players, as well as other people that work in the sport," he said.
The first edition of "Wheeling Nailers Weekly" will be available for listening on Friday, April 26th at the Nailers' YouTube page (www.youtube.com/WhgNailers). This week's show features an interview with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Communications Director Mike O'Brien, as the Pens prepare for their first round playoff series against the Binghamton Senators. DJ also talks about the 2012-13 Wheeling Nailers, the ECHL playoffs, the last week of the NHL season, and much more!
