Zephyrs Hold off Express, Win 6-5

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Koyie Hill drilled a two out single in the seventh inning to break up a tie game and score the go ahead runs as the Zephyrs defeated the Express 6-5 at The Dell Diamond.

Jacob Turner pitched six innings allowed 4 runs, 3 earned in his first win of the season. The Zephyrs trailed early after a Mike Olt two run home run in the second inning. The Z's answered with a Ed Lucas two run shot in the third inning.

The scoring was back in fourth in the middle innings with the Zephyrs scoring runs in the fourth and fifth but the Express answered. New Orleans rallied in the seventh loading the bases off of reliever Yoshinori Tateyama. Hill drilled a 3-1 pitch into right field and scored a pair of runs to give the Z's a 6-4 lead.

The Express rallied in the ninth inning scoring a run and had the tying run at third base when Chris Hatcher struck-out Yangervis Solarte for the final out. Hatcher earned his league leading sixth save.

The Zephyrs improve to 8-9 and pick up a game on first place Round Rock 11-8. The Express lead the series 2-1 with the series finale on Tuesday.

Game Notes - The Z's committed an error in the fifth inning snapping a streak 44 innings of error free baseball. The 16 hits is a new season high for the Zephyrs.
