TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

RH John Kuchno (0-1, 12.27) vs. LH Franklin Morales (No Record)

Kuchno: Surrendered 8 R on 7 H over 4.0 with 4 K and 4 BB in 4/12 Loss @ ASH (9-7 Tourists)

Morales: Making first rehab appearance (Placed on Boston Red Sox DL on 3/31/13- lower back injury)

THE LEAD OFF: West Virginia knocked off Greenville 8-3 Tuesday night at Fluor Field. The Power connected on three straight singles in the first, including one by Wyatt Mathisen to drove home Josh Bell for a 1-0 lead. Mathisen drove in two more runs in the sixth inning on a double before West Virginia tallied two runs in both the eighth and ninth innings. Orlando Castro pitched five shutout innings for the win, striking out six and walking none. The Drive broke up the shutout in the bottom of the ninth. Stetson Allie had four hits, the last of which was his league-best sixth home run.

ALLIE HONORED BY SAL: On Monday, the South Atlantic League announced its' first Player-of-the-Week award for the time period from April 4-14 and Stetson Allie was honored for his work during that span. Allie batted .396 with a league-best five home runs and 16 runs batted in. The infielder is the only player on the club and one of 24 in the league to have played in all 13 of his team's games this season.

DRIVE TIME: West Virginia will conclude its' series in Greenville tonight. The two teams will meet for one more series this season, early next month in Charleston. After taking the first two games of this set, the Power now lead the all-time series 24-22. The Drive still hold a 15-11 edge at Fluor Field, site of tonight's series finale.

ON THE MEND: Greenville has altered their rotation and is scheduled to throw Franklin Morales against the Power tonight. Morales was placed on the Boston Red Sox Disabled List on March 31 with a bulging disc in his lower back and Wednesday marks his first rehab appearance. Morales holds a career Major League record of 11-16 over 175 games with an ERA of 4.36. The southpaw was originally signed by the Rockies and made his professional debut in 2003. Morales pitched for Asheville in 2005, going 8-4 with a 3.08 earned run average, including going 1-0 with 1.80 ERA and one save against Power in their first season as a Brewers affiliate. Morales is slated to throw 50 pitches tonight.

CASTRO IN CONTROL: Orlando Castro earned his first win of the season with five scoreless innings. The southpaw hasn't allowed a run in either of his last two starts and has a scoreless inning streak at nine frames. Castro has struck out a team-high 15 and has yet to walk a single batter in 15 and a third innings pitched.

STOPPED AT TEN: Raul Fortunato's hitting streak ended Tuesday with an 0-5 performance against the Drive. It was the longest streak by a Power player this season and the third longest by any player in the league. Fortunato's streak began on April5 and the Power outfielder batted .395 with two home runs and seven batted in during his run.

CAREER BEST: Clay Holmes pitched into and recorded one out in the bottom of the sixth inning on Monday night for the longest outing of his professional career. The right-hander made 13 starts for State College in 2012, nine of which lasted a complete five innings. After tossing five in his second outing this season, Holmes retired the first batter he faced in the sixth on Monday before walking two to end his outing at 75 pitches,

PROMO UPDATE- APRIL 19: The Power will welcome two Los Angeles Laker cheerleaders and have a Jerry West East Bank High jersey giveaway on NBA night. This event is presented by WCHS-TV and Fox 11.

POWER POINTS: On Saturday, Dilson Herrera became the first Power player this season to score four runs in a game... Stetson Allie is the first player this year to hit two home runs in a single game, knocking two out of McCormick Field on Saturday night... Seven miscues on Saturday night matchedthe Power record for errors in a single game (July 22, 2009 vs. SAV).

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh's game with St. Louis was postponed due to rain... Indianapolis doubled up Toledo 4-2... Altoona's game against Richmond was suspended in the 10th inning tied at one. The game resumed this morning prior to a school day game. The Curve won 2-1 on a walk-off single by Andrew Lambo in the 11th... Bradenton beat Jupiter 3-1. Robby Rowland picked up the win with six innings of shutout baseball.
