Late Power Surge Topples Tucson

Fresno hit four home runs after the seventh inning Sunday and came back to beat the Tucson Padres, 11-6. The Grizzlies hit five home runs in the game, including two by third baseman Juan Perez.

With the Grizzlies leading 1-0 in the third inning, Brandon Allen hit a three-run home run over the right field fence to put the Padres on top, 3-1. Carter Jurica knotted the score at 3-3 in the fourth on a two-run home run. Brett Pill's RBI double in the top of the fifth gave Fresno a one-run advantage, but Tucson answered in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run homer from Jonathan Galvez over the Padres bullpen.

Tucson reliever Nick Vincent surrendered the lead in the eighth, giving up two home runs. Vincent was charged with his third loss of the year. Fresno added on to its lead in the ninth with back-to-back home runs from Perez and Johnny Monell. Ramon Ramirez earned the win for the Grizzlies after tossing two scoreless innings. Dean Anna went 3-for-5 with an RBI in the loss for the Padres.
